GTK2 Text Editor is a simple text editor which supports Unicode. It is especially suitable for editing multilingual XML and HTML texts. It is also a nice notepad replacement for Windows users. Supports many encodings. Supports right-to-left text for languages like Hebrew and Arabic and other tricky linguistic stuff (on any OS on which it runs, not only on Unicode OSes!). Has nice look & feel.
