Aeon is a small, simple, and easy to configure replacement for big, old MTAs like sendmail or postfix that was created for personal use on Linux desktop machines. It is intended to give users the easiest possible solution for connecting their favourite MUA with an SMTP server. It is not a daemon, runs only while performing a delivery, and is a good choice for hardened or minimalistic boxes.
