PowerDNS daemon http://www.powerdns.com/ 1986x
PDNS is an advanced high performance authoritative nameserver with a host of backends. Besides plain BIND configuration files, PDNS reads information from MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL and many other databases.

popwatcher http://sourceforge.net/[..]s/popwatcher/ 1985x
popwatcher is a daemon that maintains a list of hosts that are authorized to use your mailserver as an SMTP relay based on those hosts successfully authenticating to your POP mail server.

thttpd http://www.acme.com/[..]tware/thttpd/ 1983x
thttpd is a simple, small, fast and secure HTTP server. It doesn't have a lot of special features but it suffices for most uses of the web.

IServerd http://iserverd.khstu.ru/ 1983x
ICQ server for Unix.

ipsvd http://smarden.org/ipsvd/ 1983x
ipsvd is a set of Internet protocol service daemons for TCP/IP and UDP/IP. A daemon waits for incoming connections on a socket; for new connections, it conditionally runs an arbitrary program to handle the connection. The daemons can be told to read and follow pre-defined instructions on how to handle incoming connections; based on the client's IP address or hostname, they can run different programs, set a different environment, deny a connection, or set a per host concurrency limit.

poplimitd http://poplimitd.sourceforge.net/ 1981x
poplimitd is a daemon process that monitors a servers maillog file for POP3 or IMAP connections. Using configurable settings it monitors the rate of logins based on the user account and IP address. If it finds excessive usage, it will send a preconfigured email with the users information to that user asking them to stop.

crackalaka http://www.stalphonsos.com/[..]a/crackalaka/ 1979x
Crackalaka is a small, standalone IRC server. It does not implement the inter-server portions of the IRC protocol, and is meant for use by a small workgroup, preferably behind a firewall.

MEsmtpd http://martin.edenhofer.de/[..]Site=Projects 1968x
The main features of MEsmtpd are SMTP-Auth (RFC 2554) and rewriting the 'From:' header ('email body From: header' and 'envelope from') based on an account-list (configuration file and auth data).

vlogger http://n0rp.chemlab.org/vlogger/ 1968x
vlogger is a logger daemon for Apache. It will accept piped logfile input, split it according to its corresponding virtual host (using a file cache to avoid resource limitations), and write it to disk. It automatically rotates all files and tracks them using timestamps.

mini-httpd http://cryp.to/mini-httpd/ 1967x
mini-httpd is a minimal Web server, designed for optimal performance, high security, and as little use of system resources as possible. It does not require more than one process or system thread to handle several requests concurrently.

NetSQUID http://netsquid.tamu.edu/main.html 1967x
NetSQUID is a Perl script (daemon) that sits in between Snort and IPTables. It gathers alerts generated by Snort, then automatically creates an IPTables firewall entry to block the alerting host (such as those infected by viruses).

Custom Ident Daemon http://www.angelfire.com/[..]ects/cidentd/ 1965x
The cidentd program is written for people who wish to have a working ident daemon but who do not necessarily want to allow the responses to be truthful.

Cocoon http://cocoon.apache.org/ 1961x
Apache Cocoon is a web development framework built around the concepts of separation of concerns and component-based web development. Cocoon implements these concepts around the notion of 'component pipelines', each component on the pipeline specializing on a particular operation. This makes it possible to use a Lego(tm)-like approach in building web solutions, hooking together components into pipelines without any required programming.

pircd http://pircd.sf.net/ 1961x
pircd is an IRC daemon written in Perl which aims to be compatible with existing clients. It is one of the few IRC daemons with SSL support.

FireFTP http://firestuff.org/ 1958x
FireFTP is an FTP server intended for Web hosting providers. It provides users a top-level "virtual directory" with a configurable list of system directories that the user has access to. This enables a user to have access to multiple directories owned by different system users, and enables multiple users to have access to the same directory. It does all this while still allowing system quotas to function properly.
