Wersja 8.1 została wyposażona w innowacyjne rozwiązania SMART (automatyczne administrowanie i strojenie systemu) stworzone z myślą o rozwiązaniach BI. Na szczególną uwagę zasługuje znaczne rozszerzenie funkcji służących do integracji informacji w obrębie całego przedsiębiorstwa. Innowacje w zarządzaniu Dzięki wyeliminowaniu, uproszczeniu i zautomatyzowaniu wielu czynności administracyjnych w DB2 v8.1 uzyskano znaczne uproszczenie zarządzania danymi. Najważniejsze innowacje w tej dziedzinie to: * wprowadzenie pomocnika konfiguracji (Configuration Advisor), * unowocześnienie narzędzia Healt Center, * śledzenie i kontrola wykorzystania pamięci (Memory Visualizer), * grupa narzędzi, w których zgromadzono wiedzę na temat indeksów i zapytań (Adviosors), * uproszczenie administrowania bazami danych, w których intensywnie wykorzystywany jest mechanizm partycjonowania. Integracja informacji DB2 odkrywa przed użytkownikiem nowe możliwości współdzielenia i wykorzystywania danych. Dwie najważniejsze nowości w dziedzinie integracji informacji to: * konsolidacja informacji pochodzących od różnych dostawców usług sieci Web osiągnięta dzięki wykorzystaniu rozproszonych usług sieci Web, * narzędzia do automatycznej integracji XML-a z danymi relacyjnymi. Solidny fundament dla e-biznesu E-biznes stawia przed systemami baz danych jakościowo nowe wymagania w dziedzinie skalowalności, wydajności i dostępności. Aby im sprostać w DB2 v8.1 zastosowano:: * koncentrator połączeń umożliwiający obsługę większej liczby użytkowników, * zaawansowane algorytmy kompresji, * mechanizmy umożliwiające przeprowadzanie podstawowych operacji w trybie on-line (reorganizacja tabel, zmiany konfiguracji, masowe ładowanie danych). Zintegrowane BI W celu przyspieszenia zwrotu z inwestycji i usprawnienia pracy systemu z DB2 zostały zintegrowane najważniejsze technologie stosowane w hurtowniach baz danych. Na szczególną uwagę zasługuje tu nowa funkcja wielowymiarowego grupowania danych, poprawiające w znacznym stopniu wydajność charakterystycznych dla BI, złożonych zapytań. Zwiększenie wydajności prac nad rozwojem aplikacji DB2 współpracuje z najważniejszymi, otwartymi standardami. Unowocześnione narzędzie Development Center umożliwia korzystanie zarówno ze środowiska Java jak i Microsoft. Narzędzie to może pracować jako niezależna aplikacja albo jako komponent zintegrowany z WebSphere Studio Application Developer (różne platformy) lub Microsoft Visual Studio (Windows). | ||
